Which size? Add up what runs at the same time. As a guide, the 1.5kW suits lights, TV, Wi-Fi and a small fridge; the 3.5kW adds headroom for more appliances; the 6.2kW suits bigger homes and shops. Heavy heating loads (instant showers, cookers, kettles, irons) usually stay on KPLC.
Battery pairing. 1.5kW 12V: one 12V battery, such as the YACHU 2.5kWh 12.8V 200Ah lithium (KSh 40,000). 3.5kW 24V: the YACHU 2.5kWh 25.6V 100Ah lithium (KSh 40,000) or two 12V batteries in series. 6.2kW 48V: the YACHU 5kWh 51.2V (KSh 95,000) or 10kWh 48V (KSh 160,000) lithium, or four 12V batteries in series.
The 1.5kW and 6.2kW listings mention phone monitoring through a Wi-Fi module; ask whether it comes with your unit. Warranty: 1 year as listed (manufacturer); ask us for terms.
FAQ
Straight answers before you buy. Anything else? Ask the counter.
Ask on WhatsAppYes, within its size. A hybrid inverter charges your battery from solar panels and KPLC power, then switches over automatically when the grid goes off, so connected lights, TV, Wi-Fi and fridge keep running from the battery. How long it lasts depends on battery size and load; cookers, kettles and water heaters drain small systems fast.
Only the circuits wired to the inverter stay on, so we agree with you which ones matter before we install. WhatsApp us your appliance list and we will size it.
Some models, yes. The YACHU 1.5kW and 6.2kW hybrid inverter listings say they can be monitored on a phone through a Wi-Fi module. Ask us whether the module comes with your unit or costs extra before you buy, and which app it uses; we can help you connect it.
Not exactly. kW is real power and kVA is apparent power, and sellers often mix the two. Our YACHU hybrid inverters are sold by kW: 1.5kW (12V, KSh 27,000), 3.5kW (24V, KSh 33,000) and 6.2kW (48V, KSh 45,000). When you compare a “5kVA” quote, compare continuous output in watts and the battery voltage.
Ask us for the datasheet of the model you are considering and we will explain the ratings in plain terms.
A hybrid inverter combines an inverter, a solar charge controller (MPPT) and a grid charger in one box, so it can power your home from solar, battery and KPLC electricity. A normal inverter only turns battery power into AC and needs a separate charge controller. Our YACHU hybrid inverters cost KSh 27,000 to KSh 45,000.
Our normal (standard) YACHU 12V inverters cost KSh 2,500 (300W) and KSh 3,500 (600W), with a 1000W model on request. They suit small loads such as a TV, router and laptop.
At Technics Electricals & Solar in Kiserian, YACHU hybrid inverters cost KSh 27,000 for the 1.5kW 12V, KSh 33,000 for the 3.5kW 24V and KSh 45,000 for the 6.2kW 48V. Each has a built-in MPPT solar charge controller and is listed with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. Installation is quoted separately.
Pick the size by what must run at the same time, and match the battery to the inverter voltage. Ask us for the warranty terms.
As a guide, the YACHU 12V 300W inverter (KSh 2,500) runs a TV, decoder, Wi-Fi router, laptop and phone chargers together, and the 600W (KSh 3,500) gives headroom for a bigger TV or more devices. Neither suits kettles, irons, heaters or fridges with a big start-up surge. Check the watts on your appliances.
Both run from a 12V battery and have two AC outlets and a USB port, as listed. Charge the battery with a solar panel and PWM controller, or step up to a hybrid inverter.
