An isolator is a manual switch that disconnects both live and neutral so a board or circuit can be worked on safely. Unlike an MCB it does not trip on an overload or short circuit, so it is used as a main switch alongside breakers, not instead of them. Choose a rating at least equal to the supply it switches: 63A is common on single-phase house boards and 100A on larger supplies, but match it to your incoming supply and let your electrician confirm.
