Ask on WhatsAppAt Technics Electricals & Solar in Kiserian, complete YACHU solar kits cost KSh 90,000 to KSh 400,000. KSh 90,000 buys a 2.5kWh lithium battery, 1.5kW hybrid inverter and two 610W panels; KSh 400,000 buys the 10kWh kit. Prices exclude installation unless stated. The right size depends on your load, and we size it free.
As a rough estimate, a 2.5kWh YACHU kit can run about 250W of LED lights, a TV, Wi-Fi and phone charging for roughly eight hours from a full battery. The KSh 90,000 kit has a 1.5kW inverter; the KSh 135,000 kit has a 3.5kW inverter, so it handles bigger loads at the same time.
A small, efficient fridge can be added if you keep other night-time loads low. Heavy heating appliances stay on KPLC. Your appliances may differ: send your list and we size it free.
Both YACHU 2.5kWh kits have a 2.56kWh lithium battery and two 610W bifacial panels. The KSh 90,000 kit uses a 1.5kW 12V hybrid inverter with a 12.8V 200Ah battery; the KSh 135,000 kit uses a 3.5kW 24V inverter with a 25.6V 100Ah battery, so it can run more appliances at the same time.
Backup time is about the same, because the battery stores the same energy. Choose the 3.5kW kit if you want headroom for a fridge, a pump or more sockets, or plan to add batteries later.
It depends on what must stay on and for how long. For lights, TV and Wi-Fi through an evening, a 2.5kWh YACHU kit (from KSh 90,000) is a sensible starting point; for a fridge and longer outages, look at the 5kWh kit (KSh 300,000). Send your appliance list and we size it free.
Kenya Power’s planned-maintenance notices have listed Lower Matasia and Ngong Hills (for example on 18 March 2026), so a hybrid system that switches over automatically is worth planning for.
