FAQ
Straight answers before you buy. Anything else? Ask the counter.
Ask on WhatsAppYes. Technics Electricals & Solar installs mains LED floodlights, solar floodlights and street lights for gates, compounds, shops, schools and farms. Mains floodlights can run on a photocell so they switch on at dusk; solar lights need no cable from the house. We quote after a site visit, and lights start from KSh 900.
Mains floodlights: Vellmax 20W KSh 900 to 100W KSh 2,000. Solar floodlights and street lights: KSh 4,000 to 8,500.
B22 is the push-and-twist pin base and E27 is the screw base. Check your lamp holder or bring the old bulb. At Technics Electricals & Solar, Tronic 9W pin bulbs cost KSh 180, Tronic 5W bulbs KSh 120 and Tronic 7W candle bulbs KSh 200, and we sell Carl & Gilbert pin and screw lamp holders from KSh 120.
At Technics Electricals & Solar in Kiserian, Vellmax mains LED floodlights cost KSh 900 for 20W, KSh 1,300 for 30W, KSh 1,700 for 50W and KSh 2,000 for 100W. They run on KPLC power or a solar inverter and suit gates, walls, yards and parking. Solar floodlights with their own panel start at KSh 4,000.
Add a Windsor photocell sensor so mains floodlights switch on at dusk without a timer.
Yes, if your system has an inverter: ordinary AC LED bulbs run from a hybrid or standard inverter just as they do on KPLC. For small systems without an inverter, use DC bulbs, such as the Vellmax solar/DC pin bulbs at KSh 100 (5W) and KSh 150 (9W), wired to the charge controller’s load output.
Check that the bulb voltage matches your battery, and always use LED: an efficient bulb stretches your battery much further than an old filament bulb.
A photocell sensor switches outdoor lights on when it gets dark and off at daylight, so security lights run without a timer or someone to switch them. Technics Electricals & Solar stocks the Windsor 10A photocell sensor (price on request), which suits mains LED floodlights such as our Vellmax 20W–100W range.
Mount it where the light it controls can’t shine on it, or the lights may flicker on and off.
