Ask on WhatsAppFor a few LED bulbs and phone charging, a YACHU 60W–150W panel (KSh 3,000 to 5,500) with a 10A or 20A PWM charge controller and a 12V gel battery is a simple set-up. Use DC bulbs (from KSh 100) to skip the inverter. Add a 12V inverter for a TV, or a hybrid kit for a fridge.
Example from our counter: 100W panel KSh 4,000 + 10A controller KSh 1,500 + 12V 100Ah gel battery KSh 14,000 = KSh 19,500, before cables and fitting.
It depends on how much energy you use each day. As a rough estimate, one 610W panel produces about 2–2.5kWh on a sunny day in Kajiado, so a home using 5kWh a day needs two to three panels, plus a margin for cloudy days. Our kits come with 2, 6 or 10 panels, and we size it free.
The rule of thumb: daily kWh ÷ 5 sun-hours ÷ 0.8 ≈ kW of panels. Treat it as an estimate: roof direction, shade and dust all change the real output.
The YACHU 610W bifacial monocrystalline solar panel costs KSh 15,000 at Technics Electricals & Solar in Kiserian. It is the panel used in all four of our YACHU complete kits, and it suits hybrid inverters. For small 12V systems, our YACHU panels start at 20W for KSh 1,500 and go up to 375W for KSh 11,000.
A 610W panel is large and heavy, so it needs proper mounting rails and a roof check; installation is quoted separately.
A bifacial panel collects sunlight on both sides: the front faces the sun and the back picks up light reflected from the roof or ground. The YACHU 610W bifacial panel (KSh 15,000) gains most when it is mounted with space and a light-coloured surface behind it, such as on a raised frame or a ground mount.
Mounted close to a roof it still works as a high-output panel; the extra gain from the back is just smaller.
